LaPaglia & Associates is an independent consulting firm providing expert assistance to museums and other cultural organizations throughout the United States. Specializing in the development and expansion of new and existing museums, our firm’s services include master planning, conceptual development, interpretive planning, exhibit development, project management, and executive search. We bring to every project our experienced consultants and a national network of working museum professionals and premier specialty service providers.
Founded in 1990 by Peter LaPaglia, LaPaglia & Associates serves museums of all sizes by matching our knowledge and experience to our clients’ specific requirements and tailoring our teams and services to meet their specialized needs. We are advocates for our clients, dedicated to achieving their operational objectives and to providing a base of knowledge and information that will empower our clients to succeed.

Peter S. LaPaglia
Peter
S. LaPaglia worked in the museum field for over a decade and a half before
founding LaPaglia & Associates in 1990. As Chief Curator at the Tennessee
State Museum, Mr. LaPaglia administered a 100,000 item cultural history
collection and played an instrumental role in planning for a new 112,000
square foot museum facility. From there he went to AASLH where he directed
seminars and workshops and other professional continuing education programs
throughout the country and produced video training aides for museum professionals.
Later, as Executive Director of the Wichita Falls Museum and Art Center, Mr. LaPaglia successfully led the institution’s AAM reaccreditation, and coordinated a multimillion dollar endowment/capital campaign. Before founding LaPaglia & Associates, he returned to AASLH as its interim CEO to reorganize and stabilize the 6,000 member organization.
Mr. LaPaglia holds a B.A and a M.A. in History from Middle Tennessee State University. His publications include Public History: Essays from the Field, Tennessee Grassroots Writer, and contributions to various professional periodicals
David Estabrook
David Estabrook has over 35 years experience in the museum and education
fields. He is nationally recognized for his professional training lectures
and educational programs. From 1971-1981, Mr. Estabrook directed the Office
of Elementary and Secondary Education at the Smithsonian Institution. More
recently he served as Executive Director of the Chattanooga Regional History
Museum.
Mr. Estabrook holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Maine and M.S. in History and Education from the University of Notre Dame.
Jane LaPaglia
Following
a career in teaching, Jane LaPaglia joined LaPaglia & Associates to
coordinate office management and project direction. In addition,
she assists with the coordination of the Jekyll Island Management Institute,
an annual week long training program for museum professionals sponsored
by the Southeastern Museums Conference.
She holds a B.S. and a M.Ed. from Middle Tennessee State University.
